This summer has certainly been a wild ride! FRA officially launched its River Ambassador program end of July with volunteers staffing Three Forks of the Flathead River pop-up information booths at West Glacier and Blankenship River Access Boating Sites. Additional Ambassadors are onboarding, so expect to see more friendly faces and blue branded FRA River Ambassador shirts along the river corridor. Flathead National Forest, Glacier National Park and MT FWP have been instrumental in assisting with training and providing education materials for our pop-up booths. We have also joined the MT FWP life jacket loaner program and will have adult and children life jackets available when Ambassadors are working shifts. In case you missed it, we have partnered with Flathead Basin Commission and Flathead Conservation District for the August 14th, 2021 Flathead Waters Cleanup event. FRA has been in charge of recruiting and coordinating volunteers for the Three Forks of the Flathead and the community has stepped up. We have over 60 volunteers including agency partners committed to helping with the one-day cleanup event in the capacities of hiking, floating or scuba diving.
